A half-kilometer promenade within the heart of Colombo that was created in 1859 by Sir Henry Ward, Governor of British Ceylon. This was used for horse racing and was named as Colpetty Race Course during that era. Today, Galle Face Green can be introduced as one of Colombo’s most crowded place with families, children, lovers and picnickers. It is a stunning place to relax, enjoy the beach, fly kites and have meals.

The Lotus Skyscraper, also known as the Colombo Lotus Tower, is a 350-meter (1,150-foot) tower in Colombo, Sri Lanka. 'Nelum Kuluna' is the Sinhala name for Lotus Tower. The tower is now the highest self-supported structure in South Asia as of September 16, 2019. It is also South Asia's second highest tower.
Two inverted trapezoidal will create the tower foundation, which will have four levels and be inspired by the lotus throne. The tower home, which will be designed like a lotus, will have eight levels.

It is Colombo's oldest structure, dating from 1669. It is a fine 17th century Dutch colonial architecture that has four sides surrounding a central courtyard, open verandahs, and high walls. Terracotta tiles, high vaulted ceilings, and open rooms with huge windows were all used to keep the wards cool.
The hospital was restored in 2011 by the Urban Development Authority, and it has since become the dynamic site that it is today. The Ministry of Crab, Colombo Fort Café, and Spa Ceylon are among the intriguing dining places within the ancient walls of the Old Dutch Hospital, which is now an attractive retail zone.

Viharamahadevi Park (previously Victoria Park) is a public park in Colombo, Sri Lanka, located near to the National Museum. It is the Port of Colombo's oldest and largest park. The park is named after Queen Viharamahadevi, King Dutugamunu's mother, and is located in front of the colonial-era Town Hall building. During the British rule of Sri Lanka, Charles Henry de Soysa donated land to the city of Colombo, and the park was originally named "Victoria Park" after Queen Victoria. It was held by the British Army during World War II, with the Australian 17th Brigade located in Victoria Park. The park was rebuilt after WWII and reopened to the public in 1951.

The National Museum of Colombo originally opened its doors in 1877 with just 800 exhibits depicting various elements of Sri Lankan history and culture. It now houses over 100,000 exhibits and the island's most important library. Over time, the Museum grew in popularity to the point that the Sri Lankan government had to create a new ministerial department completely dedicated to its management.
The National Museum is the island's largest museum. The two-story Italianate structure is a work of art in and of itself, with its lovely, well-kept lawn and banyan trees. A tranquil Buddha figure in meditation stance, carved out of stone dating from the 4th to 5th centuries, greets visitors in the Museum's foyer.

This magnificent stone structure celebrates Sri Lanka's 1948 independence from the British Empire. On a special pedestal, Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, opened Sri Lanka's first parliament, bringing an end to nearly five centuries of colonial rule and commemorating the start of Sri Lanka's independence. This towering structure is in the center of Cinnamon Gardens, Sri Lanka's most affluent district.
Nowadays, joggers, strolling couples, students from the local university, and families seeking a refreshing respite from Colombo's urban chaos frequent the Independence Memorial Hall.

Arcade Independence Square is a component of Colombo's beautification project and is located in Colombo 7. A number of similar renovations have taken place, exposing Sri Lanka, particularly Colombo, to a culture that is still relatively unknown in the nation. The former Auditor General's Office buildings have been renovated into one of Colombo's greatest destinations to relax, shop, and dine. Without a doubt, the Arcade is magnificent. There is plenty of parking, however it fills up quickly, particularly at night. The lion sculpture, like the aquarium, is well executed. The attractiveness of Arcade is enhanced by the plants and walks, which make it much more than a retail mall.
